Hi Simfans, JP (aka Arky888) here, figured I'd give y'all a little insight into my experiences in console and latter on, online racing.
But I have to go way back to 1979, when I was a lad & the internet wasn't even an idea to give you an idea of where my passion for all things Motorsport came from. As I mentioned, I was a lad & it was the first Sunday in October. I can vaguely remember sitting in front of my TV watching with eyes as wide as dinner plates while a race car driver called Peter Brock drove a race at a place called Mt Panorama, (both names that I had never heard of before). So I sat there and watched this guy win this race by 7 laps and break the lap reacord on the last lap. It was then that I vowed to become a race car driver.
Fast forward some years to mid 2016, (well many years), after living out my race car driver fantasies on countless console titles such as F1, TOCA Touring Cars, V8 Supercars, Grand Tourismo, Forza, Need For Speed and almost every rally game I could get my hands on I finally found PCARS and joind an online racing community called Aus/NZ Combined Racing League.
That's where I met Rawli, Steel Jockey, Del & that's when we started our journey together in online racing.
In mid 2017 I put together my first gaming PC and moved into iRacing, going through the ranks of Rookie, then moving onto my A Class License and getting more involved in the team aspect of the eSport
In early 2018 I had the idea of doing something to promote the Australian sim-racing scene, even if it was going to be something small. Well small things grow and JP's Sim Shed went from being an idea to becoming a full blown reality.
As I developed the idea of JPSS it quickly became apparent that I needed to have a team of drivers to help promote the project and take us out into the online market. As far as drivers, well that was a no brainer and I called up my 3 racing buddies to join up and become a part of JPSS.
Along with Rawli, Del & Steeley, I recruited a driver that had previously been an integral part in helping me win my first iRacing Blancpain Endurance Championship, a rookie and 3 new drivers that had raced with my buddies previously.
So that brings us up to date with what you're looking at right now, I hope you stick around an check us out, maybe join up and become members of the JPSS fan page. There's lots of really cool things to come.
